Flashcard Machine is an online resources where you can make flashcards. You can use them to study, print, and it can even quiz you. You can publish your flashcards on the database where other people can use them or you can look up your topic and see if there are flashcards that are already made that you can use to study.
Advantages: it can save money from having to buy flashcards; it has a quiz feature; you can share flashcards or find other flashcards on your topic; the flashcards are printable.
Disadvantages: if you do not have internet access you cannot use it; you may not be able to find the flashcards you need if you need to find flashcards.
The example can be found on the home page, the picture of the flashcards at the top left-hand corner.
This tool could be used by teachers for an online activity or assignment. It could also be used to give quizzes. They could have a layout of what they ant their students to put on their own flashcards. They could print the cards out and hand them out to students as a type of worksheet.
This tool could be used by students for studying or maybe even doing homework (depending on what their homework is). For Learner Autonomy students are able to use Flashcard Machine for any subject they could use it for. And they have to get online to use it so it stimulates them. For active learning, students first have to make or find the flashcards, then they read the card and to flip it over you must press the space bar, or for the quiz feature you have to multiple choice answers for the questions. For Holistic instruction, they are learning how to use flashcards. For Complex instruction the information on the cards are real. For challenging activities the quiz feature would be useful.
