Edmodo was created in 2008 by Nic Borg and Jeff O'Hara to allow teachers to create a page that they would be able to personally manipulate and communicate with their students without any outside influences at all.

This particular Web 2.0 tool creates a special space for the teacher to be able to communicate with their students as well as submit grades and accept assignments from them as well as creating a place to put up dates of certain assignments. This allows for direct contact between the teacher and their students and also allows for an easy way to communicate outside of the classroom. It also has a special feature with which the teacher can communicate with the parents to let them know about progress their child is making as well as upcoming events.

The best example for how something is created with this tool is found on the home page of Edmodo through the link provided at the top. This example is found at the bottom of the page with the words learn more about Edmodo. This gives a detailed video of what Emodo can be used for and how best to implement it.

This tool would best be used by a teacher in many different ways. The teacher can use this to communicate with their students outside of the classroom as well as allowing them to make the most of their education by being able to find review questions and other things like this on the page. This also creates a space that the teacher will be able to compile all of their information and collectively share it with the students without fear of it being tampered with by anyone not in the class. The teacher could best utilize this as a social networking tool that is all about education.
